With a new autoclave system, the company brings laminated glass manufacturing under one roof boosting quality control, speed, and consistency for marine glazing.

Aydın Acar Yacht Glass has successfully completed the installation of its new autoclave machine marking a major step in expanding our production capabilities. With this investment, we can now produce laminated glass entirely in-house, enabling tighter process control, faster lead times, and more consistent, safety-focused outcomes.

Why tempered laminated glass matters for yachts

Superior safety performance. Laminated safety glass keeps fragments bonded to its interlayer after breakage, reducing the risk of injury and maintaining a temporary barrier an essential advantage over monolithic glass in marine environments.

Strength + retention in one panel. Tempered (thermally toughened) glass offers higher strength and a controlled, small-particle break pattern defined by EN 12150; combining this with lamination adds post-breakage integrity thanks to the interlayer.

In-house autoclave processing. Laminated glass is produced by bonding layers under heat and pressure in an autoclave, which is key to consistent optical quality and performance; bringing this process in-house elevates our quality assurance.

Enhanced UV filtering and acoustic comfort. PVB interlayers block a significant share of UV radiation and improve sound damping valuable for passenger comfort and interior protection on board.

Marine suitability. Laminated and tempered glazing are among the materials recognized for use on small craft under ISO 12216 the harmonized framework many builders reference for windows, hatches, and hull-side glazing.
